The weakness of this serum is a lot  of silicon-base ingredients and high in concentration as well.These silicon-base ingredients are comedogenic (clog pore).Pomegranate extract is the most important antioxidant in this product.Retinyl palmitate is actually a derivative of Vit A which is less sensitive than the orginal Vit A (retianol),which is very effective in treating wrinkle by stimulating the collagen deposition. Another technology about this product is the peptide.Peptide is considered a quite new anti aging ingredient and a lot of scientific studies have proven that it works !Beside,it has numerous hydrating (hyaluronic acid,linoleic acid,mannose,cholesterol…)and whitening ingredients(soybean,chamomile,ascorbic acid derivative…),but what makes me confuse is that how all of these ingredients can work with such a limited concentration =)

The serum has no smell and absorb easily since it is very watery.My skin becomes itchy and redden in the afternoon after applying this in the morning.After 3 days,my skin will get redden immediately after put this on.My skin reacted with this serum ,even though it is labelled with allergy tested and 100 percent fragrance free.=(So ,if you have a very sensitive skin,it is better to ask for a sample before buying.This product is more recommended for aging and resistant skin

                Now we already talk about serum, cleanser and all bunch of stuff. Next, we move on to toner.  Let’s face it, not everyone use toner. Some say, it has no use and just a waste of money. But for me, I use it for extra cleaning and to ensure that no residue is left over after cleansing.

                Here, it goes!!! One of the most famous toner/lotion there is in the market, Sekkisei Lotion.

Ingredient :

Water, Alcohol, Glycerin, Angelica Acutiloba Root Extract, Coix Lacryma, Jobi Seed Extract (Jobs Tears), Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Hamamelis Virginiana Extract (Witch Hazel), Melothria Heterophylla Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil (Wheat), Citric Acid, Dl-C12-15 Pareth-8 Phosphate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Citrate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Triethylhexanoin, Ethylparaben, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance The result from using this lotion is instant. Based on its claim, it has the ability to moisturize and whiten at the same time. So, from my first experience of using it, I do feel and see the effect. You will feel that\ your skin is well hydrated and brighten from your first application. However, the whiten effect is not really that significant. If you look at its ingredient list, alcohol is no.2, so it may irritate some people. Although, alcohol is known to cause drying, but I do feel that the lotion is hydrated enough. The brightening effect comes from glycyrrhizate (licorice extract). Third ingredient is known for having an anti-inflammatory effect.

Apart from that, this lotion can also be made into a mask. My friend really like to make it into a mask, but I personally would prefer it to be  a lotion. Because, the smell of alcohol is too strong, and the first time I did this, it almost made me want to puke. However, if you could tolerate with the smell, just go on with it. So, overall, this toner is really recommended for people with oily/normal, resistance, pigmented and wrinkle/tight skin type.

Pros : It practically has all the benefit such as brighten, hydrate and a little effct of whitening except for anti-aging

Cons : May cause dryness to some people as it has high concentration of alcohol.

My skin had entered a unstable,redden and itchy condition since my second semester study week until now(around 1 month).One day when I was shopping in Takashimaya cosmetic department with my friends ,the promoter gave me this one in a very rushing condition,lol.I brought this 9 ml serum home with a prospect of it can balance back my skin condition.

The company claims that this hydrating and boosting serum can improve moisture absorption for your skin.

This product does not contain any alcohol that normally can be found in Japanese skincare products.Besides,it contains sodium PCA (natural moisturizing factor) ,acetyl glutamine and tones of plant extract in high concentration.Hydrogenated lecithin is the technology of this product,it is for the formation of liposome(micelle) that can bring the moisture deep into the skin and release it gradually.

I tried this serum at the end is due to my skin condition kept worsening,scientific products such as Dermalogica and La Roche Posay do not work for me,what I can do is to pray for God that a miracle will happen this time and my praying worked at the end !

The serum is very watery,easy absorb with a very very light flora smell.Since my skin is extremely sensitive,I stopped using my toner .The first time of using this thing,I applied this on the skin directly after cleansing and a miracle happened! My skin soothed immediately,the itchiness subsided and the skin texture became so smooth and it pumped up ! The happiness is really hard to describe,I remembered I ran to tell my mun that '' Mun ! This is excellent !''

However for the effectiveness of it can improve other products` absorption is still an unknown since I only used this with a moisturizer now.

Pros: easy absorb,hydrate,pump up  and soothe the skin ( close to 5 stars level)
Cons:effectiveness in improving other products` absorption is unknown,expensive and it lasts for quite a short        time

My friend highly recommended this product for me for around 2 years,lastly I bought this,luckily no regrets =)

The negative side about this product is the ingredient.The first 2 ingredients are ethylhexyl palmitate and isopropyl myristate are the chemicals that can cause clogged pore,therefore you have to wash properly or use another face wash after using this product.

The picture above shows that the cleansing oil can emulsify extremely well in water,even the other branded cleansing oils such as SK2 also cannot do that.(the oil will float on the water surface if it is poor in emulsify)

This eye cream won as the 2011 best eye cream in cleo magazine .I bought this eye cream was because of a prospect of this eye cream can help to solve my serious dark circle problem.

This eye cream consists of various active ingredients such as :hydroxysuccinate, gynostemma pentaphyllum extract, palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3.All of them helps to reduce the puffiness and spider vein around the eye area. The main active ingredient is the chrysin which is a plant extract and poses the function almost same with the other active ingredients. Silica is a semi metal that only helps to make the skin surface smooth virtually .Cetyl alcohol may cause driness,The worst thing is that ,this product is labelled as paraben free,but what can you see at the end of the ingredient list?

I massage for  around 5 mins also can`t absorb properly...

It has a creamy texture and cannot be spread out easily, this leads to the formation of fine line around the delicate eye area in case you over rub  when you are applying. It has a distinctive natural floral smell without the aiding of fragrance. After applying on the eye area, you can see an immediate brightening effect, but it will not persist until the next morning. After using for one month, I did not see any reduction on the dark circle, on top of that, my eye area becomes allergic sometime. However  I would not blame this eye cream since this condition may due to I overused of the eye cream .The allergic reaction will be more obvious in case you put the eye cream on the upper eyelid.

In order to dissolve various water insoluble components in this emulsion , Sekkisei used alcohol ,what a sad thing. Numerous plant extracts are the selling point of this product .Job`s tear is actually barley ,which helps in prevention of melanin formation .Witch hazel is widely used in cosmetic products nowadays for sebum balancing purpose .Majority of the plant extracts in this emulsion are for hydration and soothing function .The isoparaffin in this product is concentrate enough to cause blackhead and clogged pore .The others are all humectants and emulsifiers with appropriate concentration.

This emulsion comes with a very watery texture, this texture makes the cotton can absorb more of the emulsion .Besides ,the lovely floral smell successfully makes the user to feel a sense of relax while applying this emulsion .The smell is same with the sekkisei lotion ,means the alcohol smell is strong as well.

The emulsion will stay on your skin surface after applying since it cannot be absorbed completely .In addition ,I did not see a significant whitening effect . However ,I did find that the hydration effect is good enough for you to stay in air cond room for 6 -8 hours.

After toning your skin with a cotton soaked with lotion, spreading 2 pumps of the emulsion on the cotton then apply in a dabbing motion.For longer moisturizing effect,it is better to apply one more pump on the drying area or you can use with another moisturizer.

Pros:nice smell,hydrate and moisturize enough

Cons: limited whitening effect,sticky and the alcohol(for sensitive skin, sorry this is not for you)

This is the best selling whitening serum in Europe during 2011.

I bought this serum was due to various positive comments about this serum made me thought that I should give it a try.

The active ingredient for this serum is the ascorbyl glucoside,which is within the top one third of the ingredient list to aid the serum in delievering a significant whitening effect.Isononyl isononanoate is a natural ester that can be found in cocoa oil or lavender oil,which may clog pore ,even though this product is labelled with non-comedogenic .

don`t think there is a cap on it,I thought there was a cap closing it ,that `s why  I  would try to stretch the cap until like that,lol

It has a very condense texture like night cream,after dabbing this serum on your face,you will feel like there is a layer on ur skin,quite heavy.It comes with a strong floral smell(a noticeable high concentration of fragrance) and pink in color.

The whitening effect is really obvious.After using for 3 days,in the 3 th day`s morning you can see a rosy glow on your check area.My mun had experienced that also,I though she was using a lot of sunblock that morning,lol.

The negative side about this serum is the heavy texture will ultimately lead to the formation of blackhead,especially for those with oily skin type.I used this serum for around 1 month,I could see a increasing in the number of blackheads,that`s why I gave this serum to my mun who has dry skin type,this worked wonderfully on her.

After toning your skin,before putting on moisturizer,apply 2 pumps of the serum on your palm,dab it evenly all over your face.

Pros:detectable whitening effect,nice smell

Cons:oily skin should not use this!

A very complicated ingredient list,I will only highlight out a few that I  put in heavy consideration.Glycerin and kernel oil play a significant role in this product,for it to perform the hydration and moisturize function efficiently .However,the high concentration of alcohol denat may cause some of you to react with.

I really like the feeling after using this moisturizer,you will feel your skin calms down immediately at the moment you put on this.The moisturizer is moose type.When you spread it out,you will feel a noticeable microspheres(containing moisturizing factor) in the moisturizer.The soothing effect is definitely undeniable.It comes with a lovely light blue color and adorable "detergent smell".My bro used to say this moisturizer has a soap smell.I still remember the first time I tried this moisturizer in the Midvalley biotherm counter,I smelled a strong soapy smell,but I still bought that due to the excellent,fabulous cooling texture of the moisturizer.When I kept using this more and more frequently, I did find I had addicted to this unique smell.Now,whenever I smell this ,it really cheers me up (seriously)! Let`s talk about the effect.It hydrates the skin well ,for oily skin type it may be too heavy or even break them out.I have combination skin,after using for 2 months,my check area entered a stable stage and the surface was smooth and soft,but the T zone would be  oily in the afternoon.The first time I experienced eczema in my life was due to over exfoliation.That time I only applied a thick layer of this moisturizer on my face daily.Whenever there is a small itchy patch,I would reapply tropically.After 3 days, the condition improved.During the second year(after 4 bottles),since I over engaged in whitening ,my skin becomes more fragile.After many times of alternating this moisturizer with another one,I found that I would get some tiny blemishes with pus after using this moisturizer,that is a sign of alcohol allergic reaction.Therefore,I stopped this after my 6th bottle(the limited edition 125ml).


After toning your skin then spread this moisturizer all over you face,try to reduce the amount on oily area,as simple as that.

Cons:may be too heavy for oily skin type,allergic reaction for some

Bare in mind biotherm is generous with their samples,every time I bought one jar of this moisturizer(50ml) I would ask for a 20 ml aquasource gel sample,there are many other choices,try your to best to get as much samples as you can! =)

SK2 whitening spot specialist

So excited to give a review for my HG product~!ok,calm down a bit.This product is the updated one,actually the previous one is called whitening dermdefinition.I tried the previous one also,in fact both of them are almost the same, both of them work fabulously for me.


This product claims to give you a virtually(means looks like) spotless skin in 28 days.However,I don`t have too severe spot problem,majority is due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation(after allergic reaction),my mun is currently using this right now,I will update the result on aging skin next time.

The active ingredient for this porduct is a very unique chemical named as Demelano-P3C.As the name,this chemical poses a decrease melanin(black pigment) ability.However,I  believe that the excellent result of this product is not only due to demelano-P3C,I trust the high concentration niacinamide more.Niacinamide is an effective whitening ingredient ,on top of that it has a inhibiting inflammation ability,what a great ingredient for sensitive skin!Besides that ,this product is also added with palm extract,but I don`t consider that heavily since it has a low concentration.The other ingredients are all emollient,humectant and preservative with appropriate concentration.This product has no fragrance or coloring

The superb light weight,completely non-greasy and easily absorb texture wins my heart.This product has no fragrance so what you can smell is only the pitera,a little bit like wine,natural smell,but some of you may think it is stinky(individually).
The best thing about this essence is the effect.I still remember when I was using my first bottle,the first 1-2 weeks I didn`t experience any miracle,but when it came to the third and forth week,I really could see my skin became brighter and fairer.When I came back my hometown,my mun and bro told me that my skin condition had improved so much,that time I was over the rainbow ,lol.I have to highlight here,I was born with dark skin,this serum makes me to believe that actually I can be fairer,it even up my skin tone as well.This serum would not clog pore .It can increase the hydration level of your skin,and I don`t experience any allergic reaction with this essence(some sensitive skin user may experience slight allergic reaction for the first time usage)


The official direction of using this essence is shown in the picture above.Personally I only use this at night.You can add another half pump for the concern area,try to dab the essence instead of making a circular motion,I do believe that dabbing helps to focus the essence on the concern area instead of spreading it out evenly.Before using a paper mask,you can apply this essence on the concern area first for a better result.

Personally ,I like to drink red dates+goji fruit+ alga tea daily.Red dates and goji fruits are full with anti-oxidant and essential mineral.Anti-oxidant helps to fight against free radicals to prevent aging trace,for essential mineral,it provides your skin cells the required nutrient for cell dividing.The taiwan skincare teacher(Niu Er) and SK2 ambassador (Qiqi) use the same method also.Besides that ,alga contain plant collagen for skin firming purpose ,at the same time the slippery texture of the alga increases the intestine mobility as well(prevent constipation),therefore these 3 foods definitely can help you to have a radiant skin that can glow from within!

Besides that,I also very like to drink barley.Barley contains the essential vitamins and minerals that play a role for your skin to grow healthily also.It is rich with Vitamin B.So next time when you are in a kopitiam,order for a cup of warm barley instead of soft drink .Try to eat the residue,that is good for you,you can add another one piece of lemon for a better whitening effect also.
